Honestly im not very big on Holidays, especially religious ones and the truth is, this one for me, falls into that category. However, not because I don't believe or question if it actually happened. Of those things, I am very much convinced. My trouble also, has nothing to do with the debate surrounding the day and time of it's occurrence. What troubles me, is that more time, money and effort is spent on the event and not it's purpose. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for fun and man the candy selections are great this time of year! And who could't appreciate the wide smiles of enthusiasm and anticipation on the faces of children as they hunt for hidden eggs. Eggs laid in color no doubt, by one very busy Easter Bunny. Good thing they aren't square and that she has a year to recuperate.

My trouble is, as a society especially those of us bearing the name Christian, choose a few days out of the year to make it known that we are Christians, more so than, the more important fact, that we are followers & believers. We spend even fewer days on the meaning or purpose haven given ourselves over to tradition, which Christ Himself declared makes His word, His mission(summed up in love) of no effect. This has lead me to this blog, "Tomb-Raiderz (An Empty Tomb).

I consider tomb raiders those of us who find it more important to argue the details than to show Love. How can we love a GOD we have never seen and love not our brother & sister whom we see everyday(scripture, be a Berean;-). LOVE, which I believe is GOD's true religion(also Scripture), brings a GOD we look to the sky to find down to the people we see day to day. Christ himself said,"I was hungry and you didn't feed me, I was in prison and you didn't visit me, and I was naked and you didn't clothe me. To this the listeners replied, "When did we see you hungry, naked, or in prison'? To which Christ replies,"inasmuch as you didn't perform these acts to those around you, you didn't do them to me.

Could it be that the GOD we worship instead of being in the clouds, is within the man or woman we think deserves to be on the corner, or the one in prison being where he or she deserves to be. Paul said" Don't you know that that you are the house of GOD and that HE dwells within you"?

My intention isn't to preach at anyone, except perhaps myself. Rather it is to attempt to call attention to the greatness of the GOD within crying out in the highways, nursing homes, prisons, clutter, addictions, and lack of worth that we see around us everyday.

In the bible an Angel rolled away the stone, the entry-way to the tomb Today, However, I challenge you along with myself to be the ones to roll away the stone of isolation, hopelessness, loneliness, unforgiveness and every other sort of despair amongst our fellow-man. The movie was great and boy was Angelina hot:-), but we are today's Tomb Raiders with a divine call to love GOD by loving one another.

So...How about this Easter season, instead of all of the emphasis going on guilt (for not having been to church since Christmas) and commercialism, that we Empty a few Tombs. Not just today but everyday. Who needs your love, your forgiveness, attention, food to eat, clothes to wear or just a simple hug or eye contact. Let's Raid their tomb and truly bear witness to the resurrection of Christ far beyond Easter.

If each of us were to empty a tomb daily instead of waiting around for a rapture or some form of rescue, we could perhaps bring it about. A rapture, or a resurrection starting in our homes, with those we say we love, spreading into the work place where we gossip and sabotage one another, and on into the world in whichever way we choose to spend your time.

I have shared my heart with you today in nothing other than the spirit of love. For, I myself am the chiefest amongst sinners, disregarding the GOD within. However, if by some means you are stirred to undertake this task with me and spread this message, then CHRIST will never again have to be crucified and buried, but continually rise in the hearts of men and women all over the world, leaving in it's wake, Raided and Empty Tombs.

With all my love,
Yours In Service
